We stayed four nights at Bali Lush in the frog cottage. Bali Lush is in Tabanan about a one and a half hour to two drive from the airport or an hour from Canggu. Bali Lush is a collection of very old Javanese gladek cottages spread across a hillside with views across the valley to the rice fields. The view is simply breathtaking, it changes colour and texture throughout the day and you can watch the farmers working in the fields. Our room had everything you need, aircon, fan, good wifi, a hot shower with great water pressure, DVD, books, nothing else wanted. One very unique feature at Lush is that you can drink from the tap. The spring water comes through 60 metres of rock and is crystal clear and it's the only place in Bali I've heard where this is possible. Because the room is an old timber house there's lots of geckos, big and small, bugs and the odd bug. Of they're completely harmless but if you are concerned then you should know this. The village also has a few dogs who like to bark and carry on when you walk past. I'm not concerned by them but others might.   

The food is very good, a small menu that changes daily and the staff are helpful and very friendly. Nearly everything is grown on site including rice, corn, vegetables, pineapple,  herbs and spices including some very tasty and hot chilli!   

The hosts David and Cameron will point you to some great walks and interesting places  in the area. We went to the nearby Sing Sing Angin waterfall and had a swim which was a pleasure! Lush has a very nice pool and a yoga shala. Lush is on a hillside so there's a good number of stairs which might be problematic if you're not mobile.   

Overall I really enjoyed the four days at Lush, it's a place where you can see rural Bali and simply relax.

My family & I have been traveling around Bali & Indonesia for almost two decades.  Bali Lush is truly unique.  Set within breathtaking rice fields, the journey through villages, jungle & rice fields is what makes Bali a special destination.  We loved our cottage, totally authentic; all 5 of us were super comfortable and actually slept longer than anticipated.  

The restaurant was accommodating and meals were prompt and tasty. 

Gracious hosts Cameron & David are thrilled to talk with guests and they even arranged a motorbike tour through remote villages & rice fields, past temples & waterfalls.  We never did this before so it was quite a treat.  My only complaint is, nothing to do with Bali Lush, we should have stayed longer!

My husband and I had 3 wonderful nights staying in the Duck / Bebek room and loved our time. Breakfast is fantastic with all food cooked freshly to order. I highly recommended the poached eggs on toast. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Drinking water provided at each meal free of charge and if you need another cup of coffee at breakfast the staff was happy to make. Rooms spacious and clean and great water pressure and plenty of hot, hot water! You are also able to drink directly from the tap as the rooms have natural spring water which is delicious and safe to drink. The garden is a delight with so many fruit trees.  They even have vanilla vines and cocoa trees! The mattress is comfortable with a range of great pillows for a restful nights sleep. The sound of the river ensures that you are rested and refreshed. Dinner menu is small but perfect and menu changes daily. Pool and yoga space clean and inviting. We wish we had been able to stay longer.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! We were blown away with how beautiful the area was, and loved the tours around the area. Very relaxing place and highly recommend!

I fell deep in love with Bali Lush - it's a hidden place in the junglel of Tabanan including an incredible beautiful surrounding and nature. If you want to connect to yourself and the nature while enjoying healthy, lovely and really yummy food - you need to go here.  The owners David and Camron are awesome people who can tell you lot's of stories and showing you the nice places around Bali Lush. The rooms are equipped very well and designed so lovely! So just go and enjoy!

Guys, if you are thinking to stay at this beautiful place or not, don’t think just book it! My friend Anna and I spent here the most wonderful, mind cleaning day ever. Ultimate view, great talks with hosts David and Cameron, calming sounds of nature and pure relaxing vibe will recharge your battery.

Had the best time at this magic hotspot! If so happens that you lose your cosmic internet, this place will bring it back - at least that’s what happened to me. David and Cameron look like two mere mortals, but don’t be tricked - they’re true wizards. This place is designed to help look within: the Milky Way staring down at you in the warm pool, adorable animals coming to check on you, sounds of nature in the night, the rice field view at the sunrise and the warm summer shower, delicious breakfast. Altogether, a unique experience that makes you feel reborn with just the power of nature and the help of the hosts. Def a place to visit in Bali and my personal favorite place on the planet❤️

Simply the best !!! Luxury accomodation in the middle of "Real Bali". Lovely hosts, restaurant on site and all kinds of activities offered. Had a great time and will definitely be back. Real gem of Bali.

The Bali in your dream. Serene and peaceful. Beautifully decorated Java house and plantation. I can't get tired of the view ever.  Attentive staff and warm hosts. A very unique Hotel. Indescribable beauty. Wood carved Teak bungalows, each with stunning views of lush vegetation and terraced rice fields. A romantic heart shaped pool. And a lovely onsite restaurant, with local staff that make the best Chai Latte you have ever tasted!!!

Absolutely outstanding! This is one of the very special places to stay on the island of Bali . Beautifully designed in a eco friendly way with much regard and respect for the local community. You can watch the farmers lovingly caring for their rice fields from your balcony! The owners clearly care for and work with the local community and integrate sustainable tourism into their business. The food is healthy, tasty and mostly from the local fields. Komang is a great cook and the staff very friendly and helpful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and many things to do in the area. It’s a photographers paradise. I think Bali lush is a great example of cultural tourism respecting the land , the local communities and culture. We need more of this . Also , the rooms are great and very comfortable beds, peaceful, quiet nights , you wake to the sounds of birds in the morning and it’s cooler than other parts of Bali . Perfect temperature.

We had the best time at Bali lush  The perfect escape! Staff were beautiful! Food was the best we have had in Bali. Rooms stunning! Favourite place in Bali!  Beautiful village life with kind loving people.  Off the beaten track. A unique Bali experience.

It only took one night for us to fall in love with Bali Lush! Set against a breathtaking backdrop of lush, tiered rice fields, this Javanese-inspired boutique retreat felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. The food is some of the best we had on our trip, thanks to the care and menu planning by host/co-owner Camron Henry. She handpicks tried-and-true recipes that showcase Bali's amazing offerings, plus, her kitchen bakes homemade bread that's to die for. What's more, I celebrated by birthday there and Camron's staff surprised me with the most delectable chocolate cake! Ok - one more thing: I also had the best in-room massage there. Seriously. Camron, her husband David, their sweet dogs and wonderful staff make Bali Lush a place that we can't wait to return to next time!

The place to stay if to want to have a good rest in the nature. Good cooking (important for French people) and good advise to visit interesting areas. All the team is very friendly.No négative remark can be said about this place. We will have to come back

Friends recommended Bali Lush to us and they were right! It’s a fantastic place to stay. Away from the hubbub of Canggu and Ubud, it’s nestled in the hills with the most beautiful view. David and Cameron couldn’t have done more to make us welcome and their team are full of smiles and cooked the most delicious food. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and to fall asleep and to wake up to the sound of nature is bliss. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bali lush. Earlier reviews summed it up well. The only tip I will give is that if you are a couple book nice and early and try for the frog bungalow. We were initially allocated the dragon fly bungalow but found the 130 steps from bungalow to the restaurant too challenging. Will certainly recommend this charming out of the way place to stay.

An honest little hotel in the mountains. Friendly Australian hosts, very helpful staff. Of course not a luxury hotel. The Indonesian mother cooks with lots of love. The rooms are large cottages. The bathroom is outside. There is air conditioning. The beds are super comfortable. The location on the hill with a view of the rice fields is priceless. The black cat chooses the best guests.

The experience of visiting this little pearl of a hotel is beyond. The owners David and Cameron and  their staff were amazing. Friendly, funny and extraordinary helpful.  My 17 year old son had childhood dream of picking coconuts, which they immediately made come true. My 18 year old daughter wished to visit local dog rescue, which David drove her to. And … by the way, Cameron, is herself deeply into rescuing dogs, cats in village by having vets coming every 3-6 months so villagers pets get medicated etc.  Of the many places we stayed (mostly 5 star hotels) in our 4 week journey on Bali, Bali Lush made us the most happy, relaxed and delighted. We give it 10 out of 5!!!

We had a wonderful stay in Balilush. They offer a tour to the Tabanan market and Eka the cook gave us a cooking class. A very nice activity that I recommend. The family spirit, inspired by Camron and David, allowed us to have a wonderful meeting with an expat family. Balilush is a true haven of peace in the middle of the rice fields, life there is rhythmed to the sound of insects, Geko and roosters. A magnificent experience to start our trip to Bali with great encounters with rural inhabitants. The family cuisine is of high quality. They cook vegetables from the garden.

Thanks to David and Camron, Australian couple, very welcoming to have created about 10 years ago this haven of peace in a small village and facing beautiful rice terraces.  The kitchen is succulent, the staff adorable and caring for the few guests of this small structure. we feel privileged.  The decoration is beautiful, with old wood brought back from Java. The garden is beautifully maintained.  A superb address to find a GENUINE Bali

Located in a small mountain village, on the edge of a wood. 5 very well appointed bungalows, large terrace, outdoor bathroom, double bed. These places are run by an Australian couple who have been living in Bali for 15 years , meals are served in the upper bungalow, also furnished with a small reading room. Regarding catering could do better, as well as breakfast which could be more hearty.  However a warm welcome, smiling and the staff helps you to get down your bags in order to reach your accommodation.
